Introduction (Or How I Managed to Turn My Psychotic Love of Survivor Into a Professional Project)

As the title of this blog so eloquently indicates, I will be discussing the history behind CBS' hit reality tv series Survivor. Being the type of obsessive fan I am, not only will I discuss past seasons in detail, but also discuss the larger meaning behind the series. It has been said that there is a college class for everything (technically I said that, but hey, I have textbook quote potential!) and I follow that notion to the letter here, dissecting and analyzing the show to the core.

Does that sound boring? Think again, because if this is a class, then consider me the FUN professor. Analogies, pop culture references and even Weird Al-esque song parodies will abound as I dive deep into the philosophy, psychology, anthropology and many other -ologies of Survivor!
